The purpose of this paper is to introduce and explain issues related to collaborative information seeking. <br /> Method: This paper describes an overview of information seeking and collaboration, collaborative information seeking, with its dimensions and systems discussed. <br /> Results: This study shows that there is no single definition of collaborative information seeking among researchers. Dimensions of collaboration include explicit vs. implicit, depth of mediation, synchronous vs. asynchronous, co-located vs. distributed pieces of information.
