Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge management and nurse engagement at Firouzabadi hospital.
Methods: The present study was conducted using survey strategy and its method is descriptive- correlational. The participants consisted of 132 nurses at Firouzabadi hospital. Data collected in spring 2020. Tow standard questionnaires, Jashapara’s knowledge management and Utrechet’s employee engagement questionnaires were used to collect data which were then analyzed by using SPSS software version 18. Moreover, one sample T-test and Pearson correlation coefficient were used to analyze data.
Finding: The results showed, the knowledge management status in Firouzabadi hospital is not favorable. Nurse engagement was the average and considered a positive and mediocre relationship among knowledge management and its components with nurse engagement. Employee engagement influence on knowledge management’s components. The most affect belongs sharing knowledge and least affect appertain to use of knowledge.
Results: Considering the relationship between knowledge management and employee engagement, it is expected that hospital managers and policy makers codify programs and policies that promote nurse’s knowledge management. This action improves quality of clinical services and patient care and upgrades performance of nurses and hospital to gain a competitive advantage.
