Aim:The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the websites of three universities of Tehran, Tarbiat Modares and Allameh Tabataba'i based on knowledge management criteria, Cactect Model.
Methodology: The present study has been conducted in terms of applied purpose and survey-evaluation method.
Findings: The website of the University of Tehran is in the first place in the component of accessibility of knowledge with 72.8% of the score and the websites of Tarbiat Modares and Allameh Tabatabai universities are in the second place with 63.4% each in this component. In terms of knowledge creation, Tarbiat Modares University website is in the first place with 83.3%, Allameh Tabatabai University website is in the second place with 50% and Tehran University website is in the third place with 33.3%. In terms of knowledge dissemination, the website of Tarbiat Modares University is in the first place with 86.3%, the Website of Allameh Tabatabai University is in the second place with 54.5% and the website of the University of Tehran is in the third place with 50%. In general, in this model (which includes three components of accessibility, creation and dissemination of knowledge), the website of Tarbiat Modares University with 76% of points is ranked first, the websites of University of Tehran and Allameh Tabatabai are also ranked second with 58% of the score.
Conclusion:The results of the present study indicate that although the websites of the study population appeared above the average in terms of knowledge management criteria, there is still a gap to reach the desired point and there are still many weaknesses in using new technologies, and in particular website in Iran.. Although steps have been taken in this regard, the use of expert opinions on the one hand and the surveys of website users on the other hand can be helpful and effective in this regard.
