Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction with organizational commitment and ethical climate among librarians in public libraries of Kermanshah province.
Method: The research method is descriptive correlational. The statistical population includes all public librarians of Kermanshah province with 180 librarians. Using stratified random sampling, 122 person was selected as sample size. To collect data, Spector's(1999) job satisfaction questionnaires, Allen & Meyer(1990) organizational commitment questionnaire and Viktor and Cullen(1993) ethical climate questionnaire were used. Structural equation modeling and correlation coefficient tests, simple linear regression and Seville test were used with SPSS software.
Findings: Findings showed the status of job satisfaction,, organizational commitment and ethical atmosphere among public libraries is in above average. Also,, the more public librarians have a high degree of job satisfaction, they will be more committed to their organization. Ultimately, organizational commitment affects the relationship between job satisfaction and ethical climate, which makes it possible to strengthen the relationship between both variables.
Conclusion: Ethical climate and recognition of ethical values in an organization leads to ethical behaviors. Also, ethical climate plays an important role in obtaining organizational rewards and benefits, implementing organizational procedures and decisions, encounters and interactions. Employees who have high satisfaction and commitment in organization, their understanding of the ethical climate of the organization will be increased. The results of structural equation analysis on the proposed model showed that the model had good and acceptable fitness and all the paths (hypotheses) were confirmed with high confidence.
